The Center for Liberal Modernity and the Friedrich Naumann Foundation for Freedom cordially invite you to a presentation of the edited volume „Russia against Ukraine“, which explores the ideological, political, and cultural roots of Russia’s war on Ukraine.
Bringing together leading scholars, the book analyses how Russian elites have constructed anti-Ukrainian sentiment through propaganda, diplomacy, education, and historical narratives, ultimately portraying the destruction of Ukrainian statehood and identity as a central aim of Putin’s regime. Tracing these narratives from Stalinist terror to today’s genocidal policies and practices, the volume shows how revisionist myth-making has driven Russia’s war and why understanding this mythology is essential to comprehending the conflict.
We will discuss these issues and insights with our speakers:
- Anton Shekhovtsov, Political Scientist and Director, Centre for Democratic Integrity, Vienna; the book’s editor and contributor
